Volunteer Liability Release and Waiver Agreement

Event: Volunteer Program at the Crofton Community Center

I, ____________, hereby acknowledge that I have voluntarily chosen to participate as a volunteer in the event organized by the Crofton Community Center. In consideration for being permitted to participate in this volunteer program, I agree to the following terms and conditions:

Assumption of Risks: I understand that my participation in the volunteer program will involve interactions with animals, including but not limited to feline and canine companions, who have unpredictable behavior. I acknowledge that there are inherent assurances associated with such interactions, including the assurance of probable injury, death, or behavioral distress caused by the animals.

Release and Waiver: I release, waive, and discharge the City of Crofton, its officers, employees, agents, and representatives from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes of action arising out of or related to any injury, death, or behavioral distress that may occur to me during my participation in the volunteer program.

Indemnification: I agree to indemnify and hold the City of Crofton harmless from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, expenses, or costs (including reasonable attorney fees) arising out of or related to my participation in the volunteer program, including any injuries, death, or behavioral distress caused by animals.

Medical Treatment: In the event of impending injury or medical emergency that may occur during my participation in the volunteer program, I authorize the City of Crofton to obtain necessary medical treatment on my behalf and agree to be responsible for any associated medical expenses.

Photographic Release: I grant the City of Crofton permission to use photographs or videos taken before, during and after the volunteer program for promotional or educational purposes, without further compensation or approval in perpetuity.

Governing Law: This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state of Maryland, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.
